Drop Table Technique
This is used for manipulation of the hips, lumbar spine, thoracic spine and cervical spine. A patient lies on their stomach or back depending on the condition. This is used for patients who need a manual adjustment without rotation.
Electric Stimulation
During this chiropractic therapy, electrodes are placed on the skin that send light electrical pulses to different areas of the body with the purpose of reducing inflammation, curtailing muscle spasms and relieving back pain. It is believed that this helps block the transmission of pain signals along the nerves and also release the body’s natural painkillers, endorphins.
Flexion / Extension Technique
This is a procedure that has been used for years for herniated discs, spinal stenosis, and arthritis. This is a technique that was used before spinal decompression and is still an excellent procedure.
Traditional Adjustments
Traditional adjustments free up the joints and it increases the overall motions of the body. It also reduces pain, and increases function. This is for conditions such as headaches, neck pain, pain in the shoulders, pain in the upper back, pain down the arms and numbness in the hands; also for low back pain, pain down the legs and numbness in the bottom. This is also good for conditions like constipation, and asthma. Chiropractic adjustments for musculoskeletal injuries after a car accident, working injuries, sport injuries or recreational activities can relieve pain and give the body proper alignment.
For good maintenance and overall health and proper body function Chiropractic Manipulation is a great way to stay healthy.
Pro Adjuster
The Pro Adjuster is an advanced technique which is a computer instrument. It scans the spine for misalignments, muscle spasms, and inflammation. This is another technique offered to adjust the spine that is gentle but very effective. This stimulates mechanoreceptors and decreases nociceptors (which are pain fibers in the spine). This reduces pain decreases muscle spasms, increases motion, and function. This is a great procedure for those who don’t like a manual adjustment. For example, patients who have had surgery and need a gentle adjustment can benefit from this. It is safe for spinal surgeries, and those with metal cages in the spine. It is a very good treatment for the elderly or those with osteoporosis. IT is very gentile and comfortable and gets outstanding results.
Spinal Decompression
Spinal decompression is a technique that is for patients with herniated discs, spinal degeneration, (arthritis), and spinal stenosis. This condition can cause severe low back or neck pain. It can cause pain down the legs, or the arms, numbness in the hands and the feet. The patient lies on their back or there stomach depending on the condtion. A harness is wrapped around their pelvis and torso for the low back and for the neck their head and neck is gently put in a harness that cradles the head. It then gently pulls and holds for a few moments and then releases. This distracts the spine and takes pressure off the nerve roots. This procedure has saved many patients from surgery. It reduces pain, increases motion and function so that in individual can have a better quality of life.
Class 3 & 4 Laser
This is a procedure that reduces pain, inflammation and helps regenerate tissue. This is used for ankles, knees, hips, lumbar, and the thoracic spine. It also is excellent for the shoulders, or a rotator cuff injury. It is also used for elbows, wrists, and is excellent for carpal tunnel. Many patients see results in the reduction of pain after the first visit.
Nutrition
We use products to help the body repair depending on what the patient needs. Nutrition is important for: Brain function, to improve the immune system and the endocrine system, the thyroid, adrenals and the pituitary.
Healthy Immune System
We teach our patients how to improve their digestion. We follow the GAP protocol. It is important to balance the good flora and the bad flora in the gut. This prevents yeast overgrowth, which can lead to leaky gut syndrome. Allergies and asthma are also related to how we digest our food. Keeping your digestion healthy also prevents auto immune diseases. Dr. Guthrie offers a class on keeping your digestive system working properly every 8 weeks. 85% of your immune system is in the gut.
